Passage Into The Magical Way


The Wanderers of the Hazel and Apple Tribe meet us as we step onto the path of the Hazel and Apple Tree Cycle. They know that we have endured many challenges to arrive at this point and they welcome us with joy and celebration. They make it clear to us that the difficult times have subsided and a we are entering a new phase of renewed energy and magical intentions. The Wanderers of the Hazel and Apple Tribe share with us that to journey through their tree cycle is too embrace the beauty and aliveness of our own nature within, as well as the natural world. They remind us to walk each day holding ourselves in reverence, as we would all nature, we are not only stewards of the wild places and Earths animals, we are also stewards of our own selves, of our own nature and the inner landscapes of our being. We must take care of ourselves just as attentively as we would others. The Wanderers of Hazel and Apple are companions in spirit, they harmonise with each other and support each others gifts and qualities, as well as amplifying them. They remind us " magic grows in well tended spaces".


The Wanderers of Hazel and Apple's seat is in the East, the dwelling of the spirits of birth and the sunrise. The Wanderers of Hazel and Apple remind us that we will be offered many opportunities to begin again. No matter what has happened the choice is ours to let go and move past previous challenges. The Wanderers of Hazel and Apple remind us that we have a responsibility not only to others, but also to ourselves, to clear our being and the environments our being resides within. These environments do include the sensing fields of other people and all situations we find ourselves in. These are spheres of matter and are as real as a the rain and sunshine. The Wanderers exclaim with emphasis "for there are parts of us in them, and all that surrounds them, and their parts too, pass through each other and also us". In a simple act of relinquishing events to the past, we allow what no longer supports us and our growth to fall away and begin to be recycled. This not only clears our matter and energy but also all that we pass through. We can then step into this new tree cycle with fresh life force to continue on our path.



As Hazel and Apple Tree Wanderers, we are contemplating this half of the yearly cycle, we are 6 months into this year already. The farthest point from the Winter Solstice. This is a delicate time for reflection and our sensitivities are heightened. We are deeply attuned to every subtle experience within our sensing fields. And our physical senses of sight, sound, touch and smell are stronger. We are asked by the Hazel and Apple Wanderers to walk slowly and listen softly, through the day, "this day, is not any other day, it is the most important day".


Journal prompt or something to contemplate:


Choosing to walk a magical path is a commitment. It is a daily choice to see things in a mysterious way, to look beyond what appears mundane or coincidence. It is easy to become disillusioned, when the world does in fact seem magicless. Challenging life experiences can by natural effect make life feel inhospitable and unyielding, unproviding and unkind. This is a good time to litter pick our inner landscape and find those forms of litter that need recycling. Bad feelings, upset, anger, disappointments, old ways, now is the time too let them go and choose to birth ourselves into a new day.










Weavers of Hazel & Apple

week 2

Passage Through Cleared Soil.


The Weavers of the Hazel and Apple Tribe join us as we continue on our path and they speak to us of the nature of cleared soil. "freshly cleared soil is a magnet" they remind us with a wink. The Weavers of Haze and Apple share with us that while we may feel lighter after littler picking our soul and recycling our rubbish, cleared soil does not stay that way for long. Cleared soil if not managed daily is a magnet for all kinds of other crap to take root. They remind us that if we want to maintain the space we have clearer then we do need to tend it daily with a focused practice, or otherwise, plant new flowers there. The Weavers of Hazel and Apple ask us this "so how does your garden grow?" They would like us to visualise our inner landscape as a beautiful garden and fill it with varied and companion plants that look after each other and support our nature to bloom. Now is the time to harness the suns rays and the skies rains and build on what we already have by offering it companionship.

 

The Weavers of Hazel and Apple's seats are in the South, the dwelling of the Spirits of Summer and Youth. The Weavers of Hazel and Apple are great supporters of life force. They both channel this energy is abundance, deep in the magical realms and carry it through into the the physical world. They support both physic development and the fruit growth of our endeavours and our later harvests. If ever you needed to find the balance between the outer and the inner realms the Hazel and Apple tree cycle is the time to find it. Now is a good time to look forward to harvest times ahead and imagine what we would like to gather abundance from then. We still have time to put in some ground work now in the hope of reaping ample rewards later in the season. The Hazel and Apple Weavers ask us to enjoy this time "laugher is the best fertiliser" and they encourage us to sing, dance and play music and to fill ours days and our spirit with summers song.



As Hazel and Apple Weavers we are the makers of our own doing. If we are feeling tired and we lay about, we are making ourselves old. If we are beaten down by life's challenges, we are telling ourselves life wants to beat us down, and, that we can be beaten. The Weavers of the Hazel and Apple Tribe love to philosophise and they nod to each other in agreement "what is this thing named Life, is it an animal we should fearfully look out for, is it the Sun's fire or the Ocean's tsunami". Then they laugh. These Weavers don't make fun at our misfortunes, they remark to hearing humans complaining about what life has thrown at them, and then they point out, "Life is not doing throwing of things" . They explain that things simply happen that aren't very nice and that it is Life that is doing the saving. Life is all of those little moments of feeling, of joy and comfort, of connection and beauty. As Hazel and Apple Weavers we have the power to make Life in each and every moment of this day, no matter what else is going on.


Journal prompt or something to contemplate:


What is it that we love that we have had to let go? One of the biggest influences over us and how we perceive Life, is the hollow we hold dearly, deep within us where love once lived. This love was alive and was full of Life. Grieving for lost love can last a life time. The older we get the more love we can loose by the nature of time. Take a moment to consider a new perspective, that the love is not lost, albeit the source of the Life may be gone from this physical world or from our own surroundings. But the love that lived still remains, deep within us. It may be a good time for us to look a little deeper and consider if their are stronger influences affecting how we are feeling right now, or a culmination of them, maybe? Where can we lighten the load of what we carry? It's okay to let ourselves of the hook!



 


 





Guides of Hazel and Apple

Passage Crossing - The Deep Forest



As we continue through the Hazel and Apple Tree Cycle we encounter the Guides of the Hazel and Apple Tribe. The Guides of the Hazel and Apple Tribe are going to accompany us as we make the crossing through Deep Forest. This is a time of rapid unfolding of magical experiences and of our own power becoming super charged. If we have done the previous work of this tree cycle we will be well cleared, refreshed and balanced and ready to dance with the heightened magic of this season having reached the apex of the Suns power over the Solstice. We have left behind what no longer serves us and planted our final seeds. And are now eager to go deeper, to once more sink into the deep forest of our spirit and enjoy the rich and decedent delights of our witchy ways.. The Hazel and Apple Guides accompany us not to offer us support, for they know that we have amassed much experience and know this realm well. They accompany us to simply enjoy observing how far we have come in creating our own beautiful practices. We have finally found our witchy groove and know what works for us. We might say our witchcraft is thriving.


The Guides of Hazel and Apple's seat is in the West, the dwelling of the Spirits of Maturity and the Setting Sun. The Guides of Hazel and Apple speaks to us of knowledge and asks us in what ways we might share this knowledge with others. We each have between us a compendium of knowledge. Each one of us walking a unique path with many twists and turns that takes us deeper into the forests of our inner realms. Yet we are all still learning and growing and often changing in our direction. No one has the quality of wisdom that you possess, no one will have quite the same understanding or be able to offer the same perspective as you. The Guides of the Hazel and Apple Tribe ask you to share some of what you have learned with others for "it is only wisdom when it is felt by another", they say that there is someone that will benefit from your very special understanding on a current matter. Community and knowledge are important during this time. Whether your circle is large or very small you are needed. And the ripples of what you share will be felt far and wide.


As Hazel and Apple Guides we feel confident and strong in our magical maturity. There is a strength that comes from a tried and tested practice and a trust in the dependability of it. That it will never let us down and will always be there for us. No matter what comes our way. As Hazel and Apple Guides we have made our home in the deepest of forests and in these places our most potent magic lives deep among the roots. We may journey back to the deep forest for many unexpected reasons and at random times along the spiritual path. We may need rest and sanctuary, we may need to face shadow aspects of our self for personal growth, we may need to drink from the well for healing, or we may need to reach for our most powerful magic. Whatever the call to the deep forest we know that this place will never deny us. It is the one place we are safe, strong and protected. As Hazel and Apple Guides this is a time of deep unearthing and of new exploration. Make note of the gifts you find there..



Journal prompt or something to contemplate:


Notice how the differences of You feel, between one of your ways and another. Between you, in the deep forest and you not, for instance. Notice what overcomes you when you feel the need to spiral inwards. How your energy shifts and what version of you steps through to be expressed. Notice what becomes alive within you and how your focus shifts and what you become interested in. These realms of experience that we speak of in metaphors and very real. And so we are physically reactive and physically changed through them.



 




Spirit Keepers of Hazel and Apple

week 4

Passage Through The Cunning



At the end of the path we find The Spirit Keepers of the Hazel and Apple Tribe, huddled together discussing something of great interest. As we approach them they raise their branches inviting us into the huddle. The Sprit Keepers of Hazel and Apple draw our attention to the whispers of what may come to pass. This is a great time for noticing signs and omens. There is a lot of bird activity in the skies at this time of year and we are drawn to the mystical practice of divination and seership. The Spirit Keepers ask us to notice our visions and listen to our intuition. Often visions will surface through the in between spaces of our thoughts and conversations. That moment when a thought pops up we are likely distracted and we may not pay attention, only realising many days later after something comes to pass, that we had the vision. To the Spirit Keepers of Hazel and Apple, dreams, visions and sign are the focus because theirs is the realm of night. They are un-clouded by our daily chaos and the constant chatter of human life. They eagerly ask us to pay attention during this time if we would like to grow our psychic abilities because "all is open and yielding in the psychic realms"


The Spirit Keepers of Hazel and Apple's seat are in the North, the dwelling of the Spirits of Night and Death. The Spirit Keepers share with us that as the Sun is "at its highest point in the sky, so too is it at its lowest." We are passing through the gateway of the summer solstice this tree cycle, yet we are also reflected in the Winter Solstice at the opposite end of The Celtic Tree Calendar. As well as the Hidden Trees of Rowan and Alder both of which speak to us of prophecy and of spirit. If ever their was a time for us to access beyond the veil it is now, as we are in the presence of two powerful nexus of otherworldly power. This is a highly receptive time for transference, both in our daily experiences and spiritually on our path. For what we send out is indeed received in the deeper subconscious spaces and will come to seed at a later time. And indeed what we might be receiving now in our lives may well be what has grown from our previous actions from earlier years. The Spirit Keepers advise us "careful now, what you put out there, it will come back to meet you". And it will re-meet us first in the form of a vision.



As Hazel and Apple Spirit Keepers we have the foresight to affect our futures. We cant change the past but we can interrupt the course of unfavourable themes that keep playing out. We can achieve this through our words and intentions, and through our state of mind. As Hazel and Apple Spirit Keepers we can plant the seeds that our future selves will benefit from. Minor adjustment in our behaviours, attitudes and actions will have an affect on our experiences later on down the path. Holding a vision in our mind right now, of the good things that we want to draw to us in the future and matching this to our daily thoughts and the language we use will influence the course of our path in our favour.



Journal Prompts or things to contemplate:


Look closely at the relationships around you. There may be parts of those relationships that don't feel balanced or even fair. Look at yourself as well as others, understand where the incongruences appear rooted. Are there minor adjustments that can be made to make for a better tomorrow? Tomorrow may be in 6 months or 6 years time, but if it is a direction you would like to see yourself going in, it would be worth the investment of your time now. Engage your power of seership and support your future visions in the right direction.

Wanderer, Weaver Guide and Spirit Keeper are storytellers and are laid out into four weeks of guidance through each tree cycle. These four sections while acting as weekly guidance, can also be experienced in any order. These weeks 1-4 are meant as a guideline only.
