Wanderer of Holly

week 1

East-Air-Spring-Birth-Sunrise-Swords

Passage of Open Space

The Wanderer of the Holly Tribe meets us as we step onto the path of the Holly Tree Cycle and informs us of the open spaces we traverse during these times. Our ancestors would have travelled far and wide, across unknown lands to reach never before seen destinations. They would have made the journey with hope in their hearts and minds, calling upon the spirit of their ancestors to guide and protect them. We may be travelling spiritually, emotionally or mentally to a place we need to experience. And this open space of uncertainty that we cross over or go through is as real as a physical journey.

The Wanderer of Holly's seat is in the East, the dwelling of the Spirits of Air. The spirits of air accompany us in this first week as we open into a new landscape. The spirits of air keep energy flowing around us, parting the trees of the landscape so that we may see beyond our immediate surroundings, so that we may keep within our sight the journey ahead. The Wander of Holly speaks to us of blustery times along the journey and reminds us that the winds we experience along our creative personal growth journeys are important for driving the seed of our focus forward, and are also creating for us spontaneous opportunities for fresh insights so that we can stay alive and animated and adjust to our journey's direction if needed.

As Holly Wanderers we are encouraged to embrace the open spaces that we find ourselves in. These spaces are without structure or routine. Without a sign post or focal point. We are reminded that rigidity is not good for us no matter how much we value a straight road, sometimes we need to follow the diversion through the parted trees, into the wide open space and then find our way back onto our main path later on down the road.

Journal prompt or something to contemplate:

How much do we relay on the known path that leads us through life? The routine of each day can give us a sense of security yet when days turn to months and then years, or decades on the 'known' path, can we honestly say we are still on a journey of discovery. The Wander of Holly speaks to those of us who resist the open spaces and asks us 'why has the adventure of life failed' for us. And encourages us to notice when the trees part offering us a diversion to experience a new and exciting landscape.

Weaver of Holly

week 2

South-Fire-Summer-Youth-Midday-Wands

Passage Between Dynamic Forces.

The Weaver of the Holly Tribe joins with us as we continue on our path and speaks to us of dynamic forces interacting with our daily experiences, and the challenge of moving through and between them. Dynamic forces can be any of our life's experiences that become powerful and demanding. These experiences are governed by an immersion of one main element that becomes demanding, thus adopting a fiery nature. Experiences of a material, emotional, mental or creative nature will become too focused on and manifest the overarching element of fire. The Weaver of Holly reminds us that dynamic forces are powerful experiences for magic manifestation and creating positive change. But to throw to much energy into them creates to hot an environment.

The Weaver of Holly's seat is in the South, the dwelling of the Spirits of Fire. The Weaver of Holly reminds us that when we become to focused on any aspect of our life, we can create small wildfires around us, and our life becomes insular and we have less freedom of movement. When it all becomes about materialism, or relationships, or intellectual stimulation or spiritual growth and so on and so forth, we are failing to work with the dynamic forces in creative ways, instead choosing to merge with them and this is when we can get burned out. The Weaver of Holly is a powerful advocate for our need for focus on action, and wants us to be driven to manifest our beautiful life, but to do so we must navigate dynamic forces carefully and try to work creatively through them.. Noticing when these areas of our life become a little hot, and then shifting our focus to another landscape of our realm of experience. This will allow the dynamic forces to cool off for a while and is a good practice to invest in. We hear the whisper 'Give space to the magic and it will unfold with clearer focus'.

As Holly Weavers we are reminded that our focus is magic, and our magic is powerful. In a manifestation phase our magic burns like a five day candle. We need to observe our own prolonged periods of focus and notice when are candle is nearing the end of it's life so that we can consciously wind down those dynamic energies in that area of our life and take a break. We can light another candle for this focus, but it is best to do this after we have had a rest. As this will allow the magic to reach out organically, freely, and find natural pathways to manifest into the physical world.

Journal prompt or something to contemplate:

Often the elements that govern our personal expression in this life and drive how we connect with our everyday relationships, are not the elements that become our dynamic forces. For instance, we may be a watery, emotional sensitive person, but we can become merged with earth or fire as a dynamic force, being overrun with materialism or creativity for example. Or we may be a fiery creative person and become merged with air or water as a dynamic force, becoming detached and lackadaisical or overwhelmed and tearful. Take a moment to notice what elements we are aligned with, and what elements we merge with as dynamic forces, and if there is a pattern here. Doing this can give us greater awareness's around how we are activated and with what dynamic forces we are magnetised.

Guide of Holly

week 3

West-Water-Autumn-Maturity-Sunset-Cups

Passage of Abandon

As we continue through the Holly Tree Cycle we encounter the Guide of the Holly Tribe. The Guide of the Holly Tribe reminds us of our Sacred Rite to Abandon. We step into the winding down energy of the tree cycle, up until this point we may have been really quite busy in our lives, navigating different paths and moving in and out of intensities of expression. The Guide of the Holly Tribe is with us now and offers us a beautiful gift. We are asked to remember our sacred rite of abandon. We need not always be working towards something, or participating in or contributing to, with acts of service. We can choose to be wild for a time, whatever wild means for us personally. And let go and be free. This does not mean abandoning our important reasonability's, but rather means giving ourselves the space we need to be our wilder selves, set free from all of the other stuff we hold ourselves tightly to. Abandon is a state of mind, heart and spirit and this is why it is a sacred rite.

The Guide of Holly's seat is in the West, the dwelling of the Spirits of Water. The Guide of Holly speaks to us of embracing freedoms, whatever they look like. 'The trickiness is to notice them' the Guide of Holly points out. 'When you were a child, you lived like this'. Unmoulded and unphased by societies norms, and cultural expectations. The Scared Rite of Abandon is similar to this, unmouldedness of childhood. It is a way of being that we honour ourselves to experience and for a time we break out of the mould and let it all hang out. This time is sacred and magical and lets our spirit speak to us in ways, that at any other time we might not hear. The Guide of Holly, lovingly embraces us and reminds us of our rite to unmould and asks us to invite within our own embrace the wild wisdoms that will come to us when we do so.

As Holly Guides we are are in a period of flowering manifestation. We are so full of energy this tree cycle, yet this can be represented with purpose, action and drive or trigger a rebound effect through delays and challenges. It can feel like hiking up and down a perpetual mountain with all the highs and lows. The Guide of the Holly Tribe wants us to find joy and growth through this tree cycle because although it can be very up and down, and fast then slow, through all of this rustling up of energy, our life force is flowing strongly through us, and through those who surround us in life. The energy we wield can break the moulds of not only ourselves but also of others around us. Allowing for a synchronised flow of wildness to refresh and regenerate the life force within our friends and families. We have all heard the term 'our vibe attracts our tribe', our vibe also affects our tribe.

Journal prompt or something to contemplate:

What does the moulded version of ourselves look like. This mould is not necessarily a negative thing, unless we have never been able to grow and be free to express ourselves on the outside. But even for those of us who have found our true (for now) expression or are still on this journey of uncovering ourselves, we will still face times of the moulded self. These are times when a part of our expression has been still and unchanged for a long time. It is time to consider these parts and decide if they could do with a little change to free up some energy to flow for us. Even the smallest change can create the widest ripples.

Spirit Keeper of Holly

week 4

North-Earth-Winter-Death-Night-Pentacles

Passage Through Cold Trees

At the end of the path The Spirit Keeper of Holly awaits our arrival. We have been on quite the journey this tree cycle and we are in need of a quieter space to cool and soothe us. A contemplative space with room to breathe and think clearly. But we must also soon return to our commitments for the final push to get done what needs finished. The Spirit Keeper of Holly offers us this cool soothing space, surrounded by the cold trees. Holly tree trunks are like hard cold granite stone, to be near them is to receive a healing balm for the body, mind and spirit. The Spirit Keeper of Holly reminds us that even though we have had an long hot active tree cycle, we should have had enough variation and diversion of events and experiences to keep our energy flowing fresh and free. The Spirit Keeper of Holly asks us to lean on them for a boost of calming energy. Pressing our cheek to their trunk and soaking in the coldness, we can gain a perspective, beyond recent events and see the bigger picture of our lives.

The Spirit Keeper of Holly's seat is in the North, the dwelling of the Spirits of Earth.

We are reminded by the Spirit Keeper of Holly that they rule the domains of night and winter and that simply by bringing them into our awareness we can feel the healing properties of these domains. This is especially useful for those of us who are winter, or night people. As the physical season around us is becoming hotter and the solar rays are growing into their full strength and power, we move into summer , The Spirit Keeper of Holly offers us a place of spiritual sanctuary, an old familiar place, and eternal spiritual home where we can earth bathe for a while. We can simply intone the name 'The Spirit Keeper of Holly' and imagine the starry night sky and the cool crisp air. This meditative process will support us to continue on our journey into summer's season.

As Holly Spirit Keepers we are reminded of the time and of the length of it. Living for each day can become a thing, and we can fall asleep to the reality of our world, to the physicality of a long life lived. We may wake up from time to time and notice another 5, 10 or 20 years has flown by and that we are much changed. The Spirit Keeper of Holly asks us to reflect on our life's purpose over the years. This is a good practice at this time of general consistent daily activity. It allows us to not only be action oriented, but with an added perspective of time and age. We can reflect on what was important then and what is important now and notice that if they are the same, related or different. This practice will support us to stay in a dynamic space of regeneration, and remain contemplative by keeping company with the cold trees of winter and night.

Journal Prompts or things to contemplate:

'What is your purpose' is harder to answer that we may think. Some times no matter how hard we try we can not find the right answer to this question. The answer can also look different, in the changing light of day, and the answer can even be lost of forgotten about once we find it. The truth of this answer can also run deeper than what may seem to be apparent. This is the time to reflect on our journey through this tree cycle and consider what we are investing energy into, and whether it is in alignment with our life's purpose.

Please Read

Wanderer, Weaver Guide and Spirit Keeper are storytellers and are laid out into four weeks of guidance through each tree cycle. These four sections while acting as weekly guidance, can also be experienced in any order. These weeks 1-4 are meant as a guideline only. We must trust in how the energies of the energy manifest for each of us individually along the path of the tree cycle.

In my writing I explore concepts of a spiritual nature relating to spiritual journeys and spiritual and personal growth. My ideas are not intended as direct guidance or advice. They are intended to relay a story and to prompt personal creative thought processes for people who are mentally well and self aware and who are already on a self awareness, personal growth spiritual journey.
