Wanderer of Oak

week 1

East-Air-Spring-Birth-Sunrise-Swords

Passage Through Revealing Roots

The Wanderer of the Oak Tribe meets us as we step onto the path of the Oak Tree Cycle and informs us that our roots are strengthening and we may need to refocus on certain parts of our being that need refreshed. Our older roots that we have laid down long ago run beneath us and keep us steady. They hold our experiences and memories of our past ambitions and successes, as well as the memory of our goals that fell by the wayside. The Wanderer of Oak creeks their branches in the wind and encourages us back to those projects that have value and represent our spirits growth in this life The Wanderer of Oak speaks to us of picking up where we left of, and of investing time into progressing further with those deeply rooted goals.

The Wanderer of Oak's seat is in the East, the dwelling of the Spirits of Air. Oak knows the power of wind, and shares with us that the wind spirit, while we are young can feel overwhelming for us, yet ultimately the wind wants to strengthen our trunk by pushing on us from all directions. And that through pushing us from all sides, we will be stronger for it. And so in the past, things that might have phased us, no longer will, and we are encouraged to push forward out of our comfort zone and realise how capable we are. The Wander of Oak points down into the earth, deep down to those old thickened toothy roots and says 'here lies your wisdom, grow from this place'. The Wanderer of Oak shares with us that we cant grow from our crown that blows in the wind. And to be aware of when we are to much in the windy mind of our being.

As Oak Wanderers we are encouraged to herald the coming of old and new creations. Whether we are returning to an old unfinished piece of work, or we are unfolding something new and exciting. Now is the time to be brave and proud of what we bring into being and of what we create for ourselves and for others.

Journal prompt or something to contemplate:

If we were a fully grown oak tree, complete with all of our life experience. Life experience that has grown from our deepest roots. And now lives fully expressed in our branches in the full light of the sun. Is there anything that we had wanted to achieve that has not yet been realised or fulfilled? What part of us is not yet represented in our branches. Is there anything missing from our story. Now is the time to add to our branches so that the parts of our being that need to be seen are revealed and can have the chance to strengthen in the wind.

Weaver of Oak

week 2

South-Fire-Summer-Youth-Midday-Wands

Passage Through Trial.

The Weaver of the Oak Tribe joins with us as we continue on our path and speaks to us of arriving at a place where we are to do work, of building a framework and of managing boundaries as we establish space to inhabit for a longer term. The Weaver of Oak knows that to bring our ideas into the physical realm they must have a place to live, to call home and put roots down. A place where their aliveness can be safe and secure and have a platform from where to be seen. The Weaver of oak reminds us that small details matter and that in these details there is magic weaving. Words spoken and written need to be precise, they need to flow and be alive and free and not rehearsed or artificial. Our out of being places need to reflect our inner being places. With the same values and principles. With the same attitudes and morals. All of this and more creates magic and manifests inspiration around our creative projects, goals and the work we do. The Weaver of Oak wants us to infuse our focus with attention to detail in week two, and to check and double check that what we weave into being has a domain to concentrate energy from within.

The Weaver of Oaks seat is in the South, the dwelling of the Spirits of Fire. The Weaver of Oak reminds us that everything brought into this physical world will face trials. Some trials we will leap high over and some will beat us down. Even the mighty oak tree can be split by lightening and burned by fire. The Weaver of Oak knows that anything worth creating is worth fighting for and that trials give us experience and greater wisdom. The Weaver of Oak says 'look at my beautiful form, I am not without my scars and missing parts, for I have lived and faced all life has shown me'. And we are reminded that the journey is wearing and takes its toll, and is beautiful all the same.

As Oak Weavers we are reminded that we hold within us great achievements, whether they are still traveling from our roots up into our branches or have fully arrived and adorn our royal crown we will have ups and downs, this is all part of the journey for us and adds to the beauty of our unique story. When we give attention to the parts of us that hold and unfold our expression in this life, we can trust that what we are bringing to any community space has integrity and will stand the test of time.

Journal prompt or something to contemplate:

Like the oak tree we can split and burn through embracing our trials. We must make sure that we repair and replenish ourselves when this happens and also take preventative measures to avoid possible setbacks. Taking time to have breaks is important and if accessible, spending time in nature or simply being in the fresh air, will refresh our senses and maintain our balance. How are we offering ourselves balance at this time? It can take an oak tree up to 40 years to produce acorns. So there is no need to rush, even when the wind of inspiration sweeps us up.

Guide of Oak

week 3

West-Water-Autumn-Maturity-Sunset-Cups

Passage of Congruence

As we continue through the Oak Tree Cycle we encounter the Guide of the Oak Tribe. The Guide of the Oak Tribe reminds us that we must always be ready to speak our truth, and then gently cautions us, that to speak our truth, first, we must know what our truth is. Do we know our own mind, or are we influenced by others opinions and thoughts? At this stage of the oak tree cycle we may be called into question by someone or something other. We may need to reaffirm ourselves in some way, for instance our choices may be challenged, our attitudes may be mocked, or our work may be critiqued. The Guide of Oak asks us to follow our heart wood in these moments, reach into our core being and take a deep breath there. Reminding ourselves of what we are made of and of the journey that has brought us to this very moment.

The Guide of Oak's seat is in the West, the dwelling of the Spirits of Water. The Guide of Oak speaks to us of congruence in how we express ourselves, and wants, so very much, for us to feel strong and stable right where we stand. And secure in each present moment. Different parts of our whole being, don't always reflect the values of the other parts. We can embody wildly different attitudes simultaneously, and often they can be in conflict. To understand this is to understand that we are made up of many felt senses in our body, and that each felt sense has a world of lived experience. As we grow as a person we do change. And as we well know, a compendium of life experience can be diverse and come complete with all kinds of expressions including judgements. The Guide of Oak knows this of us, and knows that we are imperfect and complex beings. We are asked to simply know the truth of each memory we have, so that in the present moment we are truthfully animated. The Guide of Oak wants us to know 'many conflicting parts can exist in the same living spirit, the wisdom, is, to know all the parts and their truths'.

As Oak Guides we assume a level of control over the direction of our paths. A control that is guided by our deepest feelings and by how those feelings are reflected in our actions and our words. To be congruent, we must acknowledge all of our parts that make up our whole being. And if some parts of us, that interact daily with our relationships and endeavours no longer feel truthful, then we must be prepared to hear this and change our perspectives. Our lives are a process, and everything we express is part of this process. At this stage of our journey we want to be confident in our presentation and only then can we speak the truth for ourselves. From this place we can journey through any trials with integrity and self-assured grace.

Journal prompt or something to contemplate:

We may find ourselves in situations that put us on the spot. Understanding that reacting and responding are different approaches to dealing with challenges and conflict is important. And which option we choose shows our maturity. Taking a moment to turn inwards towards our inner truths, and listening as they inform and guide us, will help us handle difficult situations. Taking some time to reflect on situations that have put us on the spot will help us to understand whether we have been reacting or responding to what has faced up to us in the past. Do we jump to reacting? If so, can we be reminded of The Guide of Oak, an the teachings around Truth, and listen to those parts of us that want to support us in conducting ourselves with strength and grace.

Spirit Keeper of Oak

week 4

North-Earth-Winter-Death-Night-Pentacles

Passage Through Reward

At the end of the path The Spirit Keeper of Oak awaits our return. I say return because all through our lives we have visited The Spirit Keeper of Oak consciously or unconsciously. The Spirit Keeper of Oak holds our life's story and deep in those big strong roots are also kept safe all of the birth, death and rebirth cycles that we have lived through. The Spirit Keeper of Oak stands tall on the hill, on the wooded knoll. Surrounded by other trees and bushes. And we are reminded that we too, even if we consider ourselves a solitary person, have been and still are surrounded by a life time of relationships. They may not any longer be physically there, but their aliveness, and what we learned from them is held in the memories in those ancient roots.

The Spirit Keeper of Oak's seat is in the North, the dwelling of the Spirits of Earth. We are reminded by the oak tree that we are grounded in the earth and that this life is a physical experience of the spirit. That the purpose in this life is to engage with everyday life with the physical and creative abilities and gifts that we have been given. It is through actions of engagement that we become part of something. That we share in the wider experiences of others. This is how we are all connected as we journey through this time together. Through shared experience. Through how our lives can colour the lives of others and vice versa. It is in the deep dark earthy places that humans have left their mark, their story, and how they let others who ventured into these spaces know that someone was there before. The Spirit Keeper of Oak speaks to us of legacy and what is it that we will want to be known for once our time has past. How will we leave our mark, and what is the story others will tell about us.

As Oak Spirit Keepers we are in the flow of a rhythm of nature that supports our ambitions to take root in the psychic realms and be to be seen, on top of the hill in the physical realms. This is a wonderful time to share our projects or works with the wider community. To have our mark seen by our tribe and to receive the encouragement and support from those who will encourage and rejoice in our goals to grow stronger. As Oak Spirit Keepers we have arrived at a place of recognition and reward and it is important to see the amazing achievements that we have reached for.

Journal Prompts or things to contemplate:

Sometimes we can feel unsure of a path, even when we have invested so much time into building it. We can be fully on board with what we are doing, then from seemingly nowhere, doubt creeps in and we may feel insecure. Now is a good time to explore our relationship with our own self-belief and the level of trust we have in ourselves to hold space for ourselves and stand out, or at least stand up and be seen. We have committed to a direction, but how committed are we really? And what can we do to fully cheer ourselves on?

Wanderer, Weaver Guide and Spirit Keeper are storytellers and are laid out into four weeks of guidance through each tree cycle. These four sections while acting as weekly guidance, can also be experienced in any order. These weeks 1-4 are meant as a guideline only. We must trust in how the energies of the Oak Tree Cycle manifest for each of us individually along the path of the tree cycle.
