Sensitive Sensing
When we awaken to the synergy of our senses we are realising something alive and conscious within us and tapping into this natural language of communication between all empathic beings, alive and in spirit. An ancient language that is wild and free, chaotic and transforming, and is innate in us all.
When we synergise our senses we are bringing our conscious awareness into a melding of our senses as a method of communication. This method breaks us out from the 'norms' of societal language and encourages us to explore language and communication in natural free forming ways. These new experiences can inform us about ourselves, our sensing-scapes and the hidden liminal spaces in nature. When we practice synergising our senses we are breaking free, growing and evolving into a way of experiencing all of the sensory information that our body and mind and spirit receives each second of every day... and night. And processing all of this chaotic beauty in ways that are wild and make more sense to us than the expectations of neurotypical society parameters.
When we tap into this language while keeping company with the Tree Whisper Oracles we are opening ourselves into a very reflective yet soothing grounding process of relational depth. Depth in connection not only with the energy of the oracles but also with the most hidden and sensitive parts of our being, our felt senses. Felt senses, described by Eugine Gendlin in his Focusing theory regards the language of the body as fully felt in physical ways and emerging from body parts and tissues that are conscious and intelligent. These felt senses communicate through sharing experiences and memories that we will understand and interpret. Â Physical sensations, like stiffness, numbness and tingling often lead us to the location of a felt sense. He believed this was natural and innate in every person. And that people do this naturally without even realising. It is a part of our language, maybe our most powerful method of communicating.
For some of us, we also experience the phenomenon of synesthesia, A neurodivergent phenomenon where by the senses of touch, taste, sight and sound and in my own opinion felt senses and spiritual senses will merge in strange ways creating a blended and powerful sensing experiences for us. The sense are untamed, they mingle and tangle and become a glomeration of something new and unnamed. There are many forms of synesthesia, and people who experience this are called .synesthesites. For some of us we may hear colours, taste sounds, see music or physically feel something we see or hear.
For those of us who are sensitive, felt sensing or even synesthesites, connecting with our Tree Whisper Oracles is more than drawing a card and reading the key words, even more than using intuition to uncover a spiritual thread to find more meaning. Connecting with the oracles for people who use multiple senses together is sensory melding experience through which we enter into a depth of wild sensing and allow our senses to impact each other and affect us in physically felt ways. Bellow is a method contrary to the usual way that many of us work with for selecting our cards. And this method builds upon and amplifies the time and work we have already invested in building a strong and trusted relationship with our oracles.
Synergy of the Senses
with
Tree Whisper Oracles
If your oracle is facing down and you can see the card backs, pick up your oracle, hold them in your hands and turn them over now. Close your eyes for a few seconds and take some relaxing natural breaths.
Turn inwards and tune into your own body. Allow what is alive and present for you in this moment to come in and rest comfortably within you. Hold this space gently and allow all that needs to be present in this moment feel supported by you. Softly listen to your inner voice while remaining grounded. This is a little attunment moment with your oracle.
Now either fan out your oracle on a surface with the card images facing you or hold the cards in your hands with the images facing you. Begin to slowly look through the images under a soft gaze. You may wish to move the cards around if they are on a surface. Browsing considerately through them. If it feels right begin to select and set aside cards that you feel something alive from.
Try not to focus on the key words at this moment in time. Simply experience the card images and the quality of how you experience them inside yourself.
Tune in a little more and notice the cards you have gathered together. allow a gentle curiosity to move through you. Are you are drawn to cards with a similar colours, or with a particular tonality. are you drawn like a magnet to a mood or atmosphere. Maybe it is the personality, the character of the tree spirit and the emotions that they are conveying to you which speaks most loudly to you. Maybe the cards have a similar structure or form in the trees. Notice these shapes, especially inverted chalices and extraverted cones. What is amplified for you?
In a felt sensing way notice any physical sensations in your body as you are looking at and arranging your cards. Notice if you feel any stiffness, numbness, tingling, tightness and notice if you feel a sense of relaxation as your body brings you closer to the cards that will support you today, this is you handle.
In a synesthesia way notice if the cards you have selected inform any of your other senses beyond touch and sight, such as if seeing a particular colour also informs a taste to be experienced or a sound to be heard. Maybe you interpret an injured tree and you feel the pain physically in your own limb.
Notice if felt sensing and synesthesia overlap in your realm of experience. Do your cards unfold a memory for you in a felt sensing way, which then is experienced as physically felt in the body, or tasted or smelled? Notice these nuances within your particular beautifully sensing ways.
Select as few or as many cards as feels good for you. Notice when you feel comfortable and settled. Notice when you take a deep breath and have a lengthy exhale. Once you have found your companion cards for your day, lay them out. You can now tune into the key words and see how they add a layer and inform your overall experience. The cards you have selected will be important for your self reflections of your experiences and will also support you to be grounded present and aware of what is alive within you today.
Yours in the heart of the woodlands,
Mags Black.
