Wanderer of Ash
week 1
East-Air-Spring-Birth-Sunrise-Swords
Passage Through The Fire Sword
The Wanderer of the Ash Tribe meets us as we step onto the path of the Ash Tree Cycle and speaks to us of our languages of expression and asks us are we allowing our expressive energy to flow through us and be known? The Wanderer of Ash reminds us that to be alive is to be a truthful, evolving and creative expression of our own nature as a human being. During this time our attention is drawn to the parts of ourselves that are subdued or dying back. Many plants that have kept their greenness through winter will only now start to die back and release that old growth so that their new growth can begin this spring. They hold onto this little bit of foliage during the winter so that they can transform it and use it as food for their new growing parts. The Wanderer of Ash reminds us that if we have been experiencing this decay delay, now is a good time to release and transform our old energy for fuel for new experiences. This will give us a boost.
The Wanderer of Ash's seat is in the East, the dwelling of the Spirits of Swords. The Wanderer of Ash shares with us an ancient story told by the Spirits of Swords about the Fire Sword. 'It is said that that high on an east face of a cliff that looks over the North sea there is a cave which holds a secret of destiny, a burning blue shard of light. They call this shard The Fire Sword. It is fabled that since time began, The Fire Sword absorbed the rays of the birth of the rising liminal spring sun. And that these rays, held within the have special powers of transformation and manifestation of potential. Those who are brave and make the journey to find the Fire Sword are rewarded with a gift. The flaming shard with one fell swoop will cut away all impotence and release from the wanderer their greatest potential.' The Wanderer of Ash wonders why it is that we seek the Fire Sword.
As Ash Wanderers we are in a flux of transformation. We are experiencing our final winter shed as spring is now upon us. For some of us we still have the remains of dismembered or injured parts. Parts of our own self which we need to now remove. For others, we have energy limbs that have become expired and now need released or shed. Just in the same way that trees shed there branches and bank to make room for growth. We also need to make room for growth. If life has toughened our skin we need to soften it a little if we can. As Ash Wanderer's we are receiving the flow of inspiration, or the magic from our inner Quiet Fire. We are soon to be, if not already flooded with our own languages of expression, our ideas and creative potential for transforming ourselves and our lives. Yet we may also still have the dregs of the past dying cycle attached to us which may make us doubt our abilities or feel dismembered and impotent. We are yet to realise that dismemberment does not need to be viewed as a loss of self but than rather is more more truthfully a freeing of self.
Journal prompt or something to contemplate:
The time is upon us for important yet brief self reflection and decisive planning. A time for cutting clear lines under dying experiences. A time of self amputation of unhealthy anchoring energy, of severing dead limbs and freeing us up for new growth. What will be our language of expression through this year, what story do we want this to tell about us, what growth do we need to make room for in our life? We may want to think about the work we do, the ways in which we are animated in our day to day, how we connect with others and especially how we express our inner beauty, inspiration, intelligence and wisdom. It may be useful to enter into meditation with the Spirits of Swords and their fable of The Fire Sword and journey to the cave of the blue shard.
Weaver of Ash
week 2
South-Fire-Summer-Youth-Midday-Wands
Passage of The Pearls
The Weaver of the Ash Tribe joins with us as we continue on our path and speaks to us of our rising potential and encourages us to direct our energy gently outward and upwards. Our Fire Sword cleared our energy for our inspiration to flow unencumbered. And now we have our beautiful orbs of inspiration traveling through us. These orbs, like pearls from the deep hold our purest potential for creation. The make their journey from a sacred place within us, a place that keeps our dreams and destiny secret and safe, deeply submerged in our psychic caves. Our pearls make the crossing from these caves of dreams into our thoughtful ready hands where they will be moulded and formed. The Weaver of Ash speaks to us of the fragile nature of these pearls, but reminds us that they are ours and we are the only being that can hold, mould and carry them. This Weaver encourages us to attune gently to our tender ideas and to hold them with all our strength and protection. Because these ideas will become something to be known in our world.
The Weaver of Ash's seat is in the South, the dwelling of the Spirits of Wands. The Weaver of Ash speaks to us of the Spirits of Wands and reminds us that every branch is an unmoulded wand as is every hand. Our fingers are like leaves, they absorb and transform energy into matter. We are reminded that we can move energy between one place and another or in a desired direction simply by pointing our fore finger or placing our hands in an intentional form over something. The Weaver of Ash reminds us of our inner magic for manifesting our dreams and of our ability to share healing and growth. We are encouraged to recognise the beauty and the magic we hold within our being and to recognise the power that we can access to drive energy forward simply with our own human form.
As Ash Weavers we are in a creative flow and it is important to have clear sight of where and how we are directing our energy. Some of us may be naturally organised, some of us not so much, but all of us must plan during this time. Finding our balance between being distracted and focused is important. We need to catch those ideas and ground them. As Ash Weavers we are naturally attuned to the relationship between things. During this time there must be a growth plan in place for the web of relation to work and for there to be a flow of grounded potential. It is important for us to look at our plan and notice if there are any breaks or loose ends. It is equally important to identify threads of relationship that have closed ends where action is stunted. All ends of new ideas must be open so that the next step of growth can occur.
Journal prompt or something to contemplate:
It may be efficient during this time to sketch a web for grounding our thoughts. Creating a radiant web for manifesting our potential will support our focus. If you feel called to do this begin by drawing a web big enough to accommodate your ideas using as many radial threads (spokes) and spiral threads as feels comfortable. We do not need to be artists to do this as this is a simple drawing of and joining lines to create a pattern. You can draw free hand or use a ruler. We want to be able to see our ideas and their progression up the ladder, yet not be overwhelmed.
It may be useful to keep a section open for something new that might arise from our inspiration to land and settle there. The Y shape at the centre of the web is called the hub. This is the part of our web where the spokes meet, the outward pointing radial threads. In the triangle section in the hub is where we want to place our pearl, our raw potential idea. And do this for every hub section. We may want to include work or career ideas, or creative hobbies or relationship or self growth goals. From each hub holding a pearl we now want to move up each rung of the web created by the spiral threads and record in these spaces a physical grounded act that progresses our idea. This allows us to see the growth of our pearl, from idea to a physically present activity or interaction for us. Be sure to leave the top open so that we might build a bigger web and extend our trajectory path and build on what we have created..
We can also use this drawing to plot the planned future steps we need to achieve towards our goals and also see the interconnectedness of different ideas and areas of our life as they parallel each other on their pathway.
Guide of Ash
week 3
West-Water-Autumn-Maturity-Sunset-Cups
The Passage of a Message
The Guide of the Ash Tribe meets us as we step onto the path of the Ash Tree Cycle and keeps us company a while. The Guide of Ash speaks to us of receiving and sending messages that convey information. We receive messages all the time, these are pieces of information that use many vehicles to reach us. Information that takes many forms such as in stories, through synchronicities and signs, through education and conversations. We notice things we hear, see and sense as messages when they make us feel something deeper. Messages are not random, they are a part of an unfolding pattern. They are not the whole of the thing, rather the important part that informs us, that affects us or changes us in some small way. The Guide of the Ash Tribe wants us to consider the journey cycle of the messages we receive. And also wants us to consider that we too in our actions and interactions however brief are a part of the journey of the message, we may even be the origin of a few.
The Guide of Ash's seat is in the West, the dwelling of the Spirits of Maturity. The Spirits of Maturity are wise and knowing. They are also deeply integrated in the passage a message will take. For once it passes through the Spirits of Maturity it is cured and in a state greater awareness. The Guide of Ash wants us to consider that we may now be in the possession of an older message and speaks to us of experiences that are coming full circle and asks us to consider the next step, 'was it ever yours or was it simply passed onto you... now what are you going to do with it.' We are encouraged during this time to take care of what we now hold without judgement of where we think it came from or who we think it belongs to. We are the custodians of this part of the life cycle of a message that has landed with us for a short time, this may even be the journey passage of someone else's pearl.
As Ash Guides we are in a comic creation, an alchemical cauldron of the rise and fall of information, we are a part of the process of transference, carrying a message that has a life cycle, holding it in our own hands and sometimes moulding it a little before we move it on. We are encouraged to tune into our own tender heart space. We may find ourselves in a position where we are asked to inform the direction of this message. This may unfold in a work situation, or in our social networking space. We might find ourselves in a situation where we need to act, react, contribute or respond to something. We are reminded that we should not be the cause of the amputation of another's sacred self parts. We need to nurture what we come into relation with even if only for a brief moment.
Journal prompt or something to contemplate:
Timing is important during Ash season and especially important while we are handling information. Now is a good time to reflect the way we share information regarding our own sensitivity, consideration, confidence and impulsivity. Being in a flow of cataclysmic manifestation will throw many things our way. unexpected things may come in to land with us. We need to be in an aware space of these moments of 'if, how, why, where and when' we share something that has found it's ways to us. Taking a few moments to consider our motives will support us to be clearer and more confident in our choices on how we act.
Spirit Keeper of Ash
week 4
North-Earth-Winter-Death-Night-Pentacles
Passage Into Sharing Ourselves
At the end of the path we meet the Spirit Keeper of Ash. The Spirit Keeper of Ash always seems to be a lone and solitary tree, even though they are usually in the company of many other ash trees. It is as though only one tree will set apart from the many and will call to us while the others remain in a sacred mirage. The Spirit Keeper of Ash speaks to us of the many kinds of friendships and encourages us to open up and talk for a while about ourselves. 'When was the last time someone other than yourself heard you thoughts, your inner voice?' The Spirit Keeper of Ash even though a seemingly alone tree is a natural friend and something in us wants to tell them all that is alive and present for us at this moment in time.
The Spirit Keeper of Ash's seat is in the North, the dwelling of the Spirits of Pentacles. The Spirits of Pentacles share with us that all elements must be present and in balance for there to be harmony in our lives. When there is harmony we are in a stronger position to manifest our dreams and bring ourselves closer into alignment with our destined path. When we have individually active earth, air, fire and water experiences all happening it is important to notice how they inform us and understand how we are keeping them company as individual entities. The Spirit Keeper of Ash reminds us that each element will be present in how we share ourselves with others, and we can notice which experiences hold more weight of a particular element. We are reminded that the element we hold, we also share.
As Ash Spirit Keepers we are moving in alignment with natural energy which is gaining momentum. We have the power to build on this momentum and fully attune to it. We also have the awareness of what we carry and share with others. During this time we are supported to be open and to share our inner voice with others. During this time others will be receptive to us and tune into what we have to say. Now is a lovely time for moving in the direction of connection with others, of opening communication and of discovering friendships. As Ash Spirit Keepers we embody wisdom that has been delivered to us through the wonderful passage of messages that have journeyed through time. These messages, from other people, from learning, from signs and synchronicities have made their way to us and we are a part of the bigger cycle of sharing wisdom, knowledge and our own expressive creative selves.
Journal Prompts or things to contemplate:
We are moving through a time of stirring activity, of fizzy energy ready to strike forward into new life. We are asked during this time to open into this fizzy energy and allow it to drive us forward into new experiences. Especially those experiences in which we share ourselves with others allowing ourselves to be seen and heard. If may be useful during this time to contemplate on the ways in which we struggle with social interactions, and in how we guard ourselves, so that we may be aware of our own insecurities. Being aware of our insecurities will lessen the hold they have on us and support us be more confident and outgoing with our natural expressive selves.

Wanderer, Weaver Guide and Spirit Keeper are storytellers and are laid out into four weeks of guidance through each tree cycle. These four sections while acting as weekly guidance can also be experienced in any order. These weeks 1-4 are meant as a guideline only. We must trust in how the energies of the Ash Tree Cycle manifests for each of us individually along the path of the tree cycle timeline.
Disclaimer
In my writing I explore themes of magical swords that are used to cut away parts of ourself. This is a metaphor for mind over matter and for transformation. This in no way refers to the wielding of a real sword. My stories are intended for interpretation into a personal growth journey and are not intended as professional advice.
